Responsible for electrical and electronic troubleshooting, repairs and installations. Maintain computerized electrical systems and assist in the maintenance of the electrical inventory. Assist with the design and implementation of new systems or processes to increase operation efficiency. Support plant leadership with operations planning activities and problem resolutions.

Required Skills:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform downtime preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.

Perform repairs, modifications, or component replacements, trouble-shooting, calibration, adjustments, performance checks, and start-up checks of all types of processing and packaging equipment.

Perform electrical projects as assigned including planning, purchasing of materials, modification or installation of parts or components or overhauling of assigned equipment.

Fill-in for other maintenance team members as needed.

Design, develop, install, check-out and start-up all electrical/electronic equipment including PLC’s, computers, control panels, transformers, photo-eyes, proximity sensors, programmable limit switches, MCC motors, AC and DC drives, lighting, encoders and instrumentation.

Assist with and maintain documentation of electrical/electronic equipment.

Read, interpret and edit electrical/pneumatic schematics and diagrams.

Troubleshoot and maintain Allen Bradley and other manufacturer’s controls for existing automated equipment/fixtures/work cells

Work with manufacturing engineering, maintenance and external equipment manufacturers to continuously improve machine reliability and uptime.

Perform electrical duties and assist mechanics on assigned shifts.

Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE. Reports any injury, accident or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.

Supports product safety, quality and regulatory.

Participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Follows all company policies and procedures

Required Experience:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education: Associates Degree; Certification/License

3 years of Controls experience

    • Experience with industrial robots a plus, but not required.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude.

    • AutoCAD/CAD experience a plus

    • Experience in PLC Programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix products.

    • Must know basic electricity and electronics including three-phase and single phase controls, ladder diagrams, low-voltage relay logic, digital and analog electronics, microprocessors, single line diagrams, electrical schematics and power distributions.

    • Must understand the use of hand tools and power tools used by mechanics including lathe, milling machine and AC, DC and heli-arc welding equipment.

    • Strong computer skills; MS Office, Outlook

    • Good verbal and written skills.

    • Works well in a team environment

    • Good safety practices and knowledge of OSHA regulatory standards.

    • Must be able to work around ammonia systems, and high voltage.

    • Must be able to wear PPE and GMP Clothing.
